Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan in Warner Bros Pictures’ “The Great Gatsby”

Warner Bros Pictures brings the latest film adaptation of The Great Gatsby, a novel written by F. Scott Fitzgerald in 1925. The 6th movie adaptation of The Great Gatsby stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan and it was directed by Baz Luhrmann. It will be available in Real D 3D and 2D cinemas on December 25, 2012 internationally and here in the Philippines it will be on January 2013 in order to give way to the Metro Manila Film Festival that happen every December.

The Great Gatsby follows Nick Carraway (Maguire), a writer who leaves the peaceful life of Midwest and comes toNew York Cityin the spring of 1922. It was a year or era of loosening morals, glittering jazz, bootleg kings, and sky-rocketing stocks. Trying to reach for his own “American Dream”, Nick ended up meeting Jay Gatsby, a mysterious, party-giving millionaire. While with Daisy Buchanan (Mulligan), his cousin both of them encountered the captivating world of the super rich, their illusions, loves, deceits and ended up to be a willing victim. Nick becomes a witness of a tragedy that no writer can ever explain with his pen or even with his own world and it was made possible by the wonderful yet dark world of “The Great Gatsby”.

The romantic drama film adaptation also stars Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher, Elizabeth Debicki, Amitabh Bachchan and Jason Clarke. It will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, and in select territories by Village Roadshow Pictures.
