Nokia soon to be shipping N9 in the Philippines

After getting huge number of pre-orders since November 18, Nokia will now be shipping their latest N9 smartphone here in the Philippines to cater their patrons and new costumers who wanted try the 3.9-inch AMOLED screen made from scratch-resistant curved glass that has swipe feature. This latest Nokia model has a dimension of 116.45 x 61.2 x 7.6-12.1 mm and only weighs 135 grams and runs with MeeGo OS, v1.2 Harmattan as its operating system. It comes in three colors: black, cyan and magenta, and the suggested retail price for the Nokia N9 16 GB variant is PhP 24,990 and PhP29, 450 for the 64GB, both are internal memory and this model doesn’t have an external memory slot.

According to Nikka Abes, Corporate Communications Manager, Nokia Philippines the new Nokia N9 offers innovation that has an industrial design, user interface, and the Qt developer experience that sets the bar for how natural technology can feel, and represents the first in a number of products from Nokia that will be brought to life in similar fashion.

This is the first Nokia product that doesn’t have home key and has a bigger room for all applications that fits to mobile usability depending on the lifestyle of the device owner. It can easy navigate by simple swiping and has three home views namely applications, events and live Applications that enables the user to shift to one application to another faster and more personalize according to his or her needs.

Battery: Standard battery, Li-Ion 1450 mAh

Other features: SNS integration, active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, digital compass, TV-out,  NFC support , Dolby Digital Plus,  MP3/WAV/eAAC+/WMA/FLAC player – MP4/H.264/H.263/WMV player, Document viewer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF), Video/photo editor, Voice memo/command/dial and Predictive text input (Swype).

The Nokia N9 reminds me of iPod Shuffle 2nd generation because of its color and the edges. This device operates with micro sim card so for those who will be buying this smartphone must apply for micro sim from their respective mobile network company. Games and other applications for Nokia N9 are available in Nokia OVI. Smart Communications already has the edge in this smartphone where they are now offering it for free at Smart’s Unlimited Data Plan 2000 (16gb) and 3000 (64gb), and All-in Plan 3500 (16gb). You can also preorder your Nokia N9 at All-in Plan 3500 with P1, 200 cash out.
