Fitness First introduces Drums Alive, Zumba and Sh’Bam classes

Despite of the storm, Fitness First continued it charity fitness marathon called Fitness Xplosion 2011 at the SMX Convention Center in SM Mall of Asia last October 1. This charity fitness marathon that started around 10am until 8pm was for the benefit of Gawad Kalinga. Around 1,000 participants joined the fitness marathon where it features different fitness activity that Fitness First offers like RPM, Retro, Body Combat and Body Jam. They also introduce their newest classes including Drums Alive, Zumba and Sh’Bam.

According to Fitness First Country Manager Mark Ellis all the proceeds of Fitness Xplosion 2011 will support Gawad Kalinga, a non-profit organization that aims to build empowered and self-sufficient communities to eradicate poverty. “The funds we generated out of the event will help build homes and offer a sustainable source of income to impoverished neighborhoods. We chose Gawad Kalinga as our beneficiary because we believe that its projects contribute relevant solutions to the country’s most significant problem—poverty,” he explained.

This is also the venue for Fitness First to present their newest fitness classes to their patrons who participated at their charity fitness event:

  • Drums Alive – this program incorporates drum sticks, exercise ball and lively music. With a perfect rhythm, participants combined drumming movement with the beat and create a holistic workout where it workouts the body and at the same time the alertness of mind. Aside from the physical health that will benefit on this program it also helps in releasing body tension and eases pain where the drumming movement helps us move freely as we strike the exercise ball with drum stick. It also improves concentration and enhances sensory and motor coordination.
  • Zumba – the popular Latin exercise finally arrives at the gym of Fitness First. The program features addictive high-energy dance routines with a mix of Latin and international rhythms to burn fat and tone the body. The calorie burning dance move is easy to follow and participants will enjoy the graceful movements as they shed calorie and sweat in every swing and beat. Zumba program shows different dancing styles including Salsa, Cumbia, Merengue, Mambo, Flamenco, Chachacha, Reggaeton, Samba, Belly Dancing, Bhangra, Hip – Hop, Axe and Tango.
  •  Sh’Bam – this program can burn 500 calories in 45 minutes. It allows you to shape up and let your inner star out by combining the hottest dance party moves and the latest chart-topping music in one exciting and heart-pumping workout. It uses both upper and lower body in its dance routines. Sh’Bam improves body coordination and increase cardiovascular fitness.

Up to date, Fitness First already has 540 clubs or branches around the world with over 1.4 million members in 21 countries. Here in the Philippines there are 18 branches some of it are located at SM Megamall, SM North The Block, ABS-CBN, Alabang, Eastwood, SM SouthMall, Robinson’s Place Manila, SM Pampanga, RCBC Plaza, SM Mall of Asia, Trinoma, and Metro East.
