Last September 18, Sony officially launches its latest Walkman NWZ- W262 series at the SM Mall of Asia Main Ground for all the shoppers and music lovers to try this wireless and portable mp3 player that they can carry anytime and anywhere they wanted. The Walkman NWZ- W262 or simply the W262 Walkman series are available in all Electrowold Stores, SM Appliances Center and Sony VIAO Centers nationwide and the retail price is only Php 3, 999 only. It is available in compact design with four colors to choose like the White, Pink, Black, and Blue.
Each Walkman W262 series comes with internal memory of 2GB that can store up to 400 songs and it battery life that will last up to 8 hours. What’s good with this wireless walkman of Sony is that it’s charging time only takes an hour and a half (1 hr and 30 minutes). It has a 3 minute Quick Charge feature where for only 3 minute of charging time, the battery will last an hour or 60 minutes of non-stop music playback. It is also water resistant where runners can enjoy this walkman without having the problem of damaging the unit with their sweat and unexpected rain. It can also be clean through running tap (water) without using brush, sponge or detergent. With the flexible and elastic cord that will fits all. It only weighs 32 grams which is 25% lighter in other Sony Walkman products.
Creating your own playlist in the Sony Walkman W262 is easy. With a USB cord that also serves as charging cord, they can easy drag and drop all the music from their laptops, desktop music folders and iTunes library. The unit can read MP3, WMA, AAC-LC and Linear-PCM Audio files. It doesn’t have a monitor to see the list of music where we can choose the songs we wanted to play, so Sony Walkman W262 has a Zappin feature that can help us preview the list of songs through its chorus that lasted 4-15 seconds per song and when we find the song we wanted to play all we need is to press the playback button again to play the music again. It also has noise reduction features where you can enjoy the music without the irritating sounds from the surroundings.

Going back to the launching event of Sony Walkman W262, international singer and now one of the hosts of ABS-CBN’s Showtime, Pilipinas Got Talent and ASAP Rocks Billy Crawford hosted the event and gave everyone a walk through the product. Aside from that he also welcomed everyone to try the augmented reality where they can be transformed as cheerleader, biker, skateboarder, afro, and others where each character is wearing the new Sony Walkman W262. With this it shows that everyone, in regards with the outfit the unit fits all. The augmented reality game was done through Sony Bravia screens which make me think that there will be more breakthrough products and activities that Sony will be doing soon in the future which everyone should be watching for it.
