I can’t help it but to smile with a teary eye while watching the presentation of Repertory Philippines of Seussical for their Children Theater. The musical children play kicked of yesterday and will run until December at the Onstage Theater in Greenbelt 1 in Makati City. Among the actors joining the presentation are Bituin Escalante, Pinky Marquez and Carla Guevara Laforteza who will be playing the Sour Kangaroo alternately in most of the performances, there’s also Oliver Usison who plays Horton the Elephant, Rem Zamora, Charity Grace Walthrop, Gab Santos, Raul Montesa, Hans Eckstein, Arnel Carrion, and Liesl Batucan.
The musical is based from the books of Dr. Seuss that debuted on Broadway in 2000. It is about the story of Horton the Elephant, narrated by the Cat in the Hat and having different characters from Dr. Seuss’s children books and putting them together in one magical play that both young and young at hearts like me will surely enjoy.
The stage and costume were fantastic; it gives everyone to put aside their stressful and occupied life for a moment just to be young again as they let their imagination fly and enter the Jungle of Nool. We find ourselves in every character like Horton the Elephant, Sour Kangaroo, Gertrude McFuzz, Jojo, Mayzie LaBird and Wickersham Brothers. I love the songs Alone In The Universe, and Solla Sollew, it gives me goosebumps which I find it very soulful like it was sung filled with passion.
In my opinion, Repertory Philippines did a fantastic decision in bring Seussical here in the Philippines. It helps the children to appreciate theater at the early age at the same time it gives them the liberty to let their imagination fly. The musical children play will be on stage until December at Onstage Theater in Greenbelt 1, Makati City for a very affordable ticket prize so try bringing your friends and even your family especially your kids if you have one and be young again.

i love this play if i have another time i will watch again the musical stage play the singers are gud the character n the stage decoration the moves and story are great n enjoyable i love also the young one who play jojo … wat is the real name of the boy nathew po ba ung complete name po nya and lan taon napo sya sobrang galing i love also the 3 monkey n the girl who role bird eheheheheh with the long long long buntot eheheheeh ganda nya grave.. c mr mayaor and ung asawa nya the elephant man grave ang galing da bez i salute…………… i give my bow….. to the cast of seussical in greenbelt….

My daughter’s school watched this show as part of their field trip. My hubby and I enjoyed the show as much, if not more, than our daughter haha. Kudos to the cast, they were really good. I would like to take my niece to watch it, as I’m sure she would love the show. It will also be a good excuse for me to watch it again. Congratulations, you all did a wonderful job!
P.S. I love Charity Grace’s and Liesl Batucan’s comedic timing. So effective. My hubby and I giggled all throughout the show

i watched the play yesterday for my younger brother’s field trip..the play was our last stop and the wait was soooo worth it!!! loved the cast especially carla guevara’s part as the sassy kangaroo…i looooove her voice!
