This was my second time to witness an Electrolux Wok-a-holic cook-off event, it was very exciting and I was so amazed with the contestants on how they prepare good food on a particular amount of time with so many audiences watching them. If ever I was in their position I will totally freak out but of course they should focus on their presentation knowing that there were lots of prizes at stake.
Finalists include Team Gourmet Chefs, Team Yummy Moms and Team Palanan. The event was hosted by well known celebrity foodie Winnie Cordero of Umagang Kay Ganda with judges Chef Bruce Lim, , Electrolux Philippines’ General Manager Malu Estaris, Appetit Magazine’s editor-in-chief Nina Daza Puyat, Chef Paulo Domingo and Cash and Carry Supermaket’s General Manager Fidian Ples.
The grand finalists need to prepare two dishes, one using Electolux Wok (kawali) and oven.
Among the dishes, I like Team Yummy Mommies’ Soft Taco Wrap with wasabi sauce and Team Gourmet Chefs grilled bacon with asparagus. Both dishes is very comforting but also has a kick of spice and flavor.
Team Palanan was announced to be the 2nd Placer, Team Gourmet Chefs got the 1st Runner-Up and Team Yummy Moms was named the Champion. Both will take home Electrolux products along with gift packs from the sponsors of the event.
But the search of Electrolux Wok-a-holic never ends, like what I said it was my second time to witness a cook off like this. It means that there will be more Electrolux cooking competition and will get a chance to win kitchen appliances and cook ware courtesy of Electrolux.
