Seeing the Grand Chapiteau in front of the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta (Manila) gives me that excitement of a kid hoping for wonderful things to happen inside the yellow and blue tent. Yes, circus with all its colors, music, and acrobats will always be part of every childhood dreams and it did came true as Cirque du Soleil visits Manila to present their latest performance entitled Varekai. Luckily, I was one of those who had the chance to witness their performance before they officially open today to public until July 24.

The circus performance was directed and written by Dominic Champagne. With his masterpiece he welcomes everyone to a mystical, colorful and heart stopping acrobatic performance of the members of Cirque du Soleil. Varekai is a Romany language means wherever, and it became a beautiful and colorful world in the performance where Icarus a former winged creature will be taught to live, walk and fly again by the magical creatures of the forest.

The blend of music, colors and acrobatic performance like the Russian swings, Icarian games, hand balancing, triple trapeze, aerial straps, and Georgian dance.  made every scenes unforgettable. There are 13 thrilling acts in Varekai, all were perfectly rehearsed and performed with deliberate skills, precision and 100% artistry.

Varekai will bring out the child in every viewer who will see the grandeur performance of Cirque du Soleil. Every performance and the set up materialize our childhood dreams and imaginations. From the fireflies in the pitch dark, the breath taking volcano leapers, and the brass bamboo like poles gives us a ticket of pure imagination coming to life.

Cirque du Soleil originated from Montreal Canada, with 130 cast members and crew representing 25 including Canada, USA, Russia, Australia, Spain, China, Italy, Ukraine, UK, Brazil, Germany, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, France, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, Argentina, Belgium, Hungary, Mexico, New Zealand, Serbia, Sweden and South Africa. Before their performance here in the Philippines they already performed in Asian countries like Taiwan and South Korea early this year.

The Manila presentation of Cirque du Soleil’s Varekai will run from June 22 to July 24 only. For tickets, visit the on-site box office at the blue-and-yellow Grand Chapiteau across the Quirino Grandstand or check out www.hoopla.ph. It is easy to take for granite the technical and creative hard labor  that goes into an event like this; they make it look so easy. Wish you  could do this sort of thing? Look into a bachelor degree on line in history, art, design, and other creative fields, that  will open your eyes to incredible possibilities. Many people think that online education is only  suited to technical degree programs, like ultrasound technician, paralegal,  X-ray technician. What you might not have heard about are the many creative programs that can be pursued through online education.
