It’s crazy and breath-taking; this is how I describe Universal Studio’s Fast Five that is now showing in all cinemas nationwide through Solar Entertainment. Also known as Fast & Furious 5: Rio Heist, the action movie film stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster and Dwayne Johnson and it was directed by Justin Lin.

Fast Five follows the escaped of Dominic “Dom” Toretto (Diesel) from a prison transport with the help of his friend Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker), a former FBI agent and his sister Mia (Brewster). From the streets of Los Angeles, California; and Atlanta, Georgia; they entered the more hostile roads of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and gain more enemies like Hernan Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida), a corrupt businessman who controls the crime in Rio and Luke Hobbs (Johnson), a U.S. Diplomatic Security Service special agent sent to capture Dom and his associates.

Fast Five is part of the Fast and the Furious film series, so for followers and even the new enthusiast expect recurring characters that appears in the prequel of the movie. But actually Fast Five or Fast and the Furious: Rio Heist falls on the fourth line up of the movie, making Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift that was released in 2006 should be the fifth. To be more specific here is the chronological order of the film disregarding the date of release: 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), Fast & Furious (2009), Fast Five (2011), and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006).

The plot is simple; in order to survive in Rio they work with the local based high profile group to steal three cars from a train and a Ford GT40 was one of it. From criminal the main character shifted to heroes which it always happens in action movies. Of course, action movies are not 100% story line but it focuses more on the execution of scenes including fight scenes, car chasing and explosions and this is where Fast Five proves its worth for the movie goers. Every action and car chasing scenes was breathtaking not to mention the crazy-amazing way it was executed especially in the uneven and narrow streets of Rio.

Fast Five is now showing in all cinemas nationwide and available in regular and IMAX theaters. The film was distributed by Solar Entertainment.
