 After the sold out performance of Rent the Musical and The Wedding Singer, 9 Works Theatrical brings another Tony Award winning musical comedy entitled Sweet Charity. It won Best Choreography in 1986 in Tonys during its revival in Broadway in the same year. Sweet Charity debut in 1966 and presented in Broadway several times. It also had production tours in different country and even featured Christina Applegate during the 2005 revival.


Here in the Philippines the musical comedy will premiere on August 5 and will run in all weekends of the month at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati City. Sweet Charity features Nikki Gil as Charity Hope Valentine, a kooky, feisty, punchy and a bubbly dance hall hostess in New York who has been used and dumped by a succession of distinctly uncharitable men, but who hasn’t stopped hoping for a happy ending. Other cast includes Kris Lawrence (Oscar Lindquist), Shiela Valderrama-Martinez and Ciara Sotto-Oconer (Nickie alternates), Sheree Vidal-Bautista (Carmen), Miguel Faustmann (Herman), OJ Mariano (Vittorio Vidal and Daddy Johann Sebastian Brubeck), and Tasy Garrucha (Ursala March). Sweet Charity also includes Caisa Borromeo, Chinie Nepomuceno, Vinia Pamplona, Carmelle Ros, Topper Fabregas, Job Bautista, Francis Matheu, Anthony Tarrosa Ong, Peter Alcedo and Chai Relucio.

The creative team of 9 Works Theatrical production of Sweet Charity includes Director Robbie Guevara, Assistant Director Lorenz Martinez, Joseph Tolentino, Musical Director (Band), Mio Infante, Scenographer; Martin Esteva, Lighting Designer; Mio Infante and Hanna de los Reyes as Costume Designers.
