>15 Stories of Human Rights on ANC’s Kinse!

After the success of AmBisyon 2010 last year, ABS-CBN News Channel brings another collection of short films that reflects human rights issues in the country. With the 15 filmmakers including Erik Matti, Carlos Siguion Reyna, Mark Meily, Auraeus Solito, Raymond Red, Jim Libiran, John Red, Richard Somes, Ato Bautista, Kiri Dalena, Ray Gibraltar, Raymund Amonoy, Kidlat de Guia, Nico Puertollano and Paolo Villaluna joins together to bring out the biggest and the most challenging short film/documentary of ANC entitled Kinse. It will run on a six-part TV special hosted by Angel Aquino who is a women’s right advocate beginning May 23, 9:30pm on ANC.

Among the popular human rights topics and issues that the filmmakers had chosen includes; women and child rights, domestic violence, gay rights, media harassment, extrajudicial killings, indigenous rights and justice. Filmmakers had their liberty to choose their topic and interpret it in their own way given that the film they are doing has four-six minute total running time. Here is the list of the movies that the directors did.

Raymund Amonoy – Liham para kay Marlo
Kiri Dalena – Memorial for Filipino Journalists
Kidlat de Guia – ANC 19
Nico Puertollano – Labinlima
Carlos Siguion Reyna – Choices
Jim Libiran – Batch 2011-05-16

Among the celebrities who joined ANC Kinse were Anne Curtis and Gina Alajar.

ANC partners with Springfilm Foundation and The Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands for a full length on human rights directed by Dutch filmmaker Jacco Groen. The film will be released this year. For more details about ANC Kinse visit www.kinse.tv.
