Ayala Malls Cinemas (Glorietta 4, Greenbelt 3 and Trinoma) brings back Robert de Niro and Edward Norton with Milla Jovovich and Frances Conroy in the film entitled “Stone” an American thriller film that will discuss beliefs, relationships, conscience and freedom. The film is directed by John Curran and will be shown on October 27.

The film follows the struggle of Gerald “Stone” Creeson (Norton), an arsonist who wanted to have his parole and Jack Mabrey (De Niro), a correctional officer who handles the case of Stone and will be retiring soon on service. Stone uses his wife, Lucetta (Jovovich) to persuade Mabrey to complete his recommendation for the release of her husband. Aside from Stone, Mabrey is facing a personal conflict about his faith and his wife, Madylyn (Conroy).

The movie might be complicated in terms of the set up, but the conflict is simple, a person who wants his freedom so bad he uses all his resources just to have it. The film is so daring and it is not intended for younger children in both visuals and the use of words. There are two things I like in the movie and that is the irony of each character and the transition from one personality to another. It really gives impact to the story including the use of the “debating” persons in the background where it creates more tension of “silent” pure visual part of the movie.

Stone will be exclusively shown in all Ayala Malls Cinemas (Glorietta 4, Greenbelt 3 and Trinoma) on October 27.
