Present in the press conference at the Balai, Cubao in Quezon City are Department of Finance Secretary Butch Abad, LP Chair Senator. Frank Drilon, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, Rep. Jun Abaya, LP Secretary General and LP President Manuel “Mar” Roxas II.

Sen. Pangilinan proposes “activist Senate”, it is an active legislature that is open on progressive, creative and willing to experiment in terms of making law. LP’s main priority now is to secure the senate presidency in order to unify the legislators and support President Aquino’s reform agenda.

Liberal Party Senators includes; Franklin Drilon, Teofisto “TG” Guingona III, Ralph Recto, and Kiko Pangilinan. Pangilinan refused to name senators who are possible to support LP during the selection process. Possible contenders include Nacionalista’s Manny Villar, Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) Juan Ponce Enrile and Jinggoy Estrada.

One of the resolutions that will be a shaker on the 15th Congress is the Charter Change resolution filled by the former President and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal Arroyo last July 1, one day after taking her oath as a congresswoman. Aside from the charter change resolution are the recurring bills from the 14th Congress; Freedom of Information Act and Reproductive Health Bill that are both controversial during the last Congress.
