>Rock the Vote 2010 begins Road Trip to Change with Liberal Party

>April 15, Quezon City – Rock the Vote, a group for voter’s education formally launch their next wave of youth participation for the 2010 election but this time RTV officially announced their partnership with one of the influential political party in the Philippines, The Liberal Party.

The Caravan for Change aims to educate the voter’s on their right to vote at the same time it will be one of the on-ground campaign of Liberal Party headed by the Presidential candidate Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, followed by Vice Presidential Candidate Manuel “Mar” Roxas II. Along with the campaign of the executive candidates of LP, Rock the Vote includes its senatorial slate in the caravan which includes; Neric Acosta, Martin Bautista, Ruffy Biazon, Frank Drilon, TG Guingona, Risa Hontiveros, Alex Lacson, Yasmin Lao, Danny Lim, Serge Osmeña, Ralph Recto and Sonia Roco.

The caravan also includes series of concerts that includes popular bands and musicians like Parokya ni Edgar, Kamikazee, Spongecola, Hale, Moonstar88 Itchyworms, Sugarfree and Noel Cabangon and other showbiz personalities promoting the importance of participation this 2010 election. The actual caravan begins on April 17 until May 3 that will kick off in Pampanga tonight making its way in Northern Luzon and bringing major concerts in Cagayan de Oro, People Power Monument in Edsa and in Cebu.

The RTV caravan aims to bring the message that the power of change begins the willingness of a person to create change for him and for the country. The caravan will utilize and re-energize people power that will manifest in various forms of volunteerism on the ground. The caravan aims to be an avenue for all those believing and wanting change thru this coming electoral exercise to be an activity where the people can express their creativity in bringing back the power to the people in charting its own destiny. RTV comprises the final leg of the LP campaign with the youth at its forefront. It aims to unite different grassroots movements on a national scale while showcasing the talents and abilities of the people who are taking control and staking a claim in shaping this country’s future.

This is not the face of politics as we know it. This time around all the groups that sprouted wanting change over more of the same will unite and converge and shed their differences and moot precepts because it’s time to ROCK THIS VOTE.
