>Beginning April 23, Columbia Pictures’ brings Alex O’Loughlin and Jennifer Lopez to the big screen in their first movie together as couples undergoing courtship with all the twists and turns that they can endure. The Back Up Plan will be shown in all cinemas nationwide and directed by Alan Poul.

The film is about Zoe (Lopez) who undergoes artificial insemination but unaware of her pregnancy she starts dating Stan (O’Loughlin). As the relationship begins to bloom, that is where the prenatal signs start showing. The complication of the simple love story of Stan and Zoe begins if whether Zoe has a perfect plan in working 2 big things in her life well.

O’Loughlin, became popular after his lead role in CBS/ Warner Bros. television show “Moonlight” a vampire inspired series where he play a vampire detective named Mick St. John. It will be his first lead role in a film with J.Lo, and according to O’Loughlin he is excited doing this film with the multi-talented actress like J.Lo. “The cast and crew were amazing and the material is really good. Plus, starring opposite Jennifer was awesome. I had a ball” O’Loughlin says.

The filmmaker is glad that they had made a right choice of choosing O’Loughlin as Stan, according to them they wasted to have a fresh face that encompasses the requirements of being sexy, funny, strong, yet also vulnerable, and they discovered O’Loughlin, an Aussie actor that passed these requirements. Todd Black, the producer of the film says that they saw the chemistry of O’Loughlin and Lopez during the script rehearsal and he became excited with the outcome of the movie. “Alex also came in very prepared. He understood where the comedy was and he wasn’t afraid to take it as far as it could go. It’s so thrilling as a producer to discover someone new. I’m proud and excited. I can’t wait to watch where his career goes; I think he’s going to be a major movie star.” Todd included.

Aside from being a good actor, O’Loughlin involves himself to charities like Donate Life, an organization that educate the public on the importance of organ donation.

The Back Up Plan includes artist Noureen DeWulf, Melissa McCarthy and Eric Christian Olsen. It is showing in all cinemas nationwide beginning April 23.
