>Walt Disney Pictures officially launches Alice in Wonderland starting today in all theaters nationwide, directed by the famous visionary and director Tim Burton the person behind Sweeney Todd, Nightmare before Christmas and The Corpse Bride. The film starred by Mia Wasikowska (Alice Kingsley), Johnny Depp (Mad Hatter), Helena Bonham Carter (Red Queen), Anne Hathaway (White Queen), Crispin Glover (Knave of Hearts), Michael Sheen (White Rabbit’s voice) and Stephen Fry (Cheshire Cat’s voice).

The film follows the return of the 19 years old Alice to the Underworld (Wonderland) which was the extension of Lewis Carroll novels Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, it refreshes childhood memories of the fairy tale novel coming to life on 3D and mixing the artistry and critical approach of Tim Burton making it appealing to the adult viewers without sacrificing the its primary viewers which is the children.

It is not dark like the other Burton’s film but I understand that there must be balance this time to make it not heavy for the young viewers and avid fans of the novel. The Victorian set up was preserve and it became more vibrant, perfect to the 3D aficionado movie goers. With the storyline to be particular I am glad that there are part of the movie that explains how it was happen, those were the common issues that movie goers encounter when they watch sequels of a movie that has span of 2-3 years making them to revisit the old film first before watching the new one, and Alice in Wonderland makes it easy to the viewers of the film.

I am a fan of the novel and I enjoyed watching Helena Bonham Carter who plays Red Queen (Queen of Hearts in book), she plays the role well including the sarcasm and self centeredness of the red haired queen. Sadly opposite of Carter was Anne Hathaway who plays the White Queen, I saw the awkwardness with the role which still I am hooked in her role in the Princess Diary. Tim Burton’s film should be watched on 3D, beacuse of the visuals and the mixing of light and dark it highlights not only the emotions of the character but also the set up.

Walt Diney Pictures Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland is now showing in all cinemas especially in SM Cinema 3D IMAX beginning today, March 4.
