>March 2, Rockwell Powerplant – 7-Eleven, the leading 24/7 convenient store launches their latest campaign in line with the 2010 Election – the 7-Election: Every Gulp Counts. This campaign will attempt to see pulse of the Filipinos in choosing their presidential candidate in a very informal manner and that is through purchasing a 16 oz 7-Eleven Gulp and choosing among the 6 cups that represents the presidential candidates:

Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino of Liberal Party

Joseph Ejercito “Erap” Estrada of Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino

Richard “Dick” Gordon of Bagongbayan

Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro of Lakas Kampi CMD

Manny Villar of Nacionalista Party

And the 6th cup represents Acosta, JC Delos Reyes, Jamby Madrigal, Nicanor Perlas and Eddie Villanueva, and on the same cup there is an option that allow you not to reveal your vote through abstain option or if you’re undecided.

Votes will be tallied through a bar code on respective cups, for the 6th cup that contains 6 options there will be 6 different bar codes to be scanned at the cashier. All transactions is documented and counted on the 7-Eleven’s 7-Election’s store tally board and also reflects on the website (www.7-elections.com.ph)that will be updated every 9am. On the receipt there will be a code where you can verify your vote on line. The 7-election website is Geo-targeted and powered by Goggle Map to see the exact purchase and votes in all 450 stores nationwide.

The campaign is not limited to age and single purchase only like the actual election. Jose Victor Paterno, President and CEO of Philippine Seven Corporation, Philippine licensee of 7-Eleven stores, encourages every Filipinos in all ages to join the campaign with no limit in purchase and show support to their presidential candidate. Watch the message of Paterno to the press and supporters of 7-Eleven during the launch of 7-Election: Every Gulp Counts at the Rockwell Tent.

The 7-election campaign was already implemented in USA where they instead of Gulp they used their coffee cups that has the candidates name and face. It was done three times in USA and it shows that it actually shows the voting behavior of the Americans with small discrepancy from the actual result of the 7-election.

This campaign is on limited time only from March 10 until May 10. So visit the nearest 7-Eleven store near you and like what I did I let my Gulp be counted counted. Check out the photo below and see that my stand as of March 2, 2010

I ‘m still undecided on whom I’ll be voting on May 10 election.
