>ANC, the 24/7 cable news channel, will give film grants to five directors or aspiring directors who will each produce a short film of their vision of the country for 2010 and beyond.

They will join fifteen accomplished Filipino directors from the local and international indie scene that have already committed to participate in the project called “Ambisyon2010,” and produce films in partnership with ANC and select foundations. Each director will be given a film grant worth P30,000 each.

Interested individuals need only to send their curriculum vitae, short film concept and a link of reel to amBisyon2010@abs-cbnnews.com before December 7. The five winners will be selected by a panel and announced on the first week of January 2010.

“Storyline” executive producer and 2009 Bayi awardee Patricia Evangelista, who is at the helm of the project, said that the films must tackle ten of the most significant issues in the country – corruption, democracy, economy, education, environment, health, justice and human rights, population, poverty, and security.

The theater premiere of the short films is slated on April 2010, a month before the 2010 national elections.

“AmBisyon is about the dreams of a nation. It is about hope, possibility, and truth. We hope that through the stories we can make the public realize how much their votes matter,” Evangelista said.

ANC will also air the short films on cable and free TV through ANC SKYCABLE ch. 27 and ABS-CBN next year. For more information, visit www.abs-cbnnews.com/ambisyon2010. For inquiries, email ancbusinessdevelopment@gmail.com
