President Corazon Aquino: Is Alive and Fighting!
Posted by FlowJul 25

Yesterday I received a text message while I’m in a meeting telling that the former President Corazon Aquino died. To be honest this kind of text message has a big impact for those who look at her as an icon of politics and democracy. Same thing happen yesterday at the Manila City Hall where her supporters who attended the Healing Mass grieves after receiving the malicious text message and and has been announced by the Retired Supreme Court Justice Adolf Azcuna during the communion. But Margie Juico, private secretary of Cory Aquino denies the rumor of the death of the former president, she mention that Aquino’s health is stable and she’s fighting for her life which Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim affirms after rushing to the Makati Medical Center after receiving the text message.
According to Dr. Eric Nubla, spokesman of Makati Medical City, that only the members of Aquino family are the only persons who are authorize to give statement and updates on the condition of the former president. Supporters all over the country offers their prayers for the recovery of former President Cory Aquino while others tie yellow ribbons in front of their house and streets as sign of their support to the woman who fights Martial Law and the dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos.

I was 10yrs. old then when the Former President Corazon C. Aquino by virtue of the Filipino uprising against the dictatorial Former President Ferdinand E. Marcos assumed the presidency. The “de facto” government of Aquino started the framing of the Freedom Constitution thus, justified her administration as “de jure” government. Since then I admire the primer in spite and despite of all the natural calamities that challenge her administration. Her promised to the Filipino people was fulfilled. We may not be a rich nation but I can say a nation that stands to what is just and what is right.
Now that the president is once again fighting (no longer for the Filipino people) for her life the Filipino people in one voice stood up to show solidarity to her and her family. We are all praying for whatever is the will of the Father. Everytime I watched the news and the story is about her, I cant help but cry. Why a very good woman will be tested by God? I always look back on the story of Job and inspired again by that.
My only prayer now is for the Father to give what is due her…prolong not the agony she is undergoing now…she’s frail…she’s weak….she doesn’t deserve all these pains and sufferings…I just pray.
